Skardu (April 7, 2012) - An avalanche of India from the Himalayan glaciers is amajor stop on the military base on the Pakistani soldiers buried on Saturday,military officials said. 


It is a tragedy, said Major Gen. Athar Abbas, a military spokesman in Islamabad.

Earlier, more than 2,000 mostly Pakistani and Indian soldiers died because of inhospitable terrain avalanches, frostbite and other dangers of the weather.
Together, each country has some 3,000 troops, about 150 glaciers along with manned outposts,. Officials estimate that the cost to maintain outposts in Pakistan to India to 200 million and $ 300 million.

  1. My fellow Indians, This could very well happen to Indian troops too considering the snow layers are soft and unstable. Lets not rejoice but hold vigilance. Only cowards rejoice over the unfortunate and untimely death of enemy. Even going back to scriptures, there is historic proof that there existed mutual respect among the enemies and death only in battlefield was rejoiced and considered as victory. RIP.
